Foundation for Art and Science Switzerland
l Stiftung für Kunst und Wissenschaft Schweiz l Fondation pour
Art et Science Suisse l Fondazione per Arte e Scienza Svizzera l
Fundaziun per Art e Scienzia Svizra
The dialogue between Art and Science has a future in Switzerland.
Although scientific research of world rank is being carried out
in this country, the dialogue with art has not yet been recognised
as a chance. Exchange and theory beyond the borders of the disciplines
are still uncommon for Switzerland, and contrary to the Anglo-Saxon
countries, are considered to be new and unorthodox. That means that
there is still much to be discovered in the Swiss fields of research
in this regard.
The foundation promotes transdisciplinary links of discourse between
art and science in respect both to theory and practice and it wants
to spread the knowledge gained in a sustainable way. For this purpose
it creates thinking and working spaces for the common ideas of artists
and scientists, so that, as an important cultural goal of development,
they may bring aesthetic assets into public discussion.
The foundation is currently in the process of consolidation.
